Our Philosophy

At Midōsuji, we celebrate the fleeting, vibrant peak of each season.

Our omakase is a living, ever-evolving composition, driven by our pursuit of the best ingredients and unique techniques.

A Shared Spirit

Midōsuji is an intimate nouvelle omakase experience inspired by the cultural kinship between Osaka and Chicago, two sister cities that share a spirit of innovation, resilience, and artistry.

Named after Osaka’s iconic ginkgo tree-lined boulevard, the restaurant channels the unique connection with Midōsuji Street and its Chicago counterpart, the Magnificent Mile, through a design and dining philosophy that bridges heritage and modernity.

Frequently asked questions

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Omakase is an experience built on trust, where our chefs choose and prepare a unique tasting menu for you using the freshest ingredients available.
To ensure we can accommodate you, please contact us ahead of time to discuss any dietary restrictions or allergies.

How long does a meal typically last?

Please allow about two hours to fully enjoy the omakase tasting menu.

Do you have a corkage fee?

We have a corkage fee of $50 per bottle, with a maximum of two bottles.

What happens if I'm late?

We ask that you arrive on time to ensure the best possible experience for everyone. We offer a 15-minute grace period. If you are running late, please call us to let us know.

Due to the nature of our tasting menu, which is served to all guests at once, anyone arriving after the grace period may have to join the meal in progress.

Valet Parking and Street Parking?

Valet parking is available on Madison Street, right outside the Chicago Athletic Association. The Millennium Lakeside Garage is another convenient option nearby. Once you've parked, you can find Midōsuji on the second floor, accessible through the hotel's lobby.

When do reservations become available?

Reservations are released on a rolling basis, opening up 30 days in advance. Should you need to cancel, please do so at least 72 hours before your reservation.

Do you take walk-ins?

Due to the intimate nature of our omakase experience, we do not accept walk-ins. Reservations are required.

What is the cost of the experience?

Our omakase tasting menu is priced at $195 per person, before tax and gratuity. We also offer a multi-beverage pairing for $105 per person, which includes a curated selection of sake, wine, and cocktails.

A non-alcoholic beverage pairing and à la carte beverages are also available for purchase.
